Q: I have recently come into foster care and don't know what resources I have and what are my rights. Can you help me?
A: We sure can! The Answers Handbook Introduction is a great place to start. Here you can learn about the basics, and move on to your resources and rights from there. You may also want to read the Youth in Care Bill of Rights to know what rights you are gauranteed.
Q: I am thinking about going to college. What should I do?
A: If you want to find a school nearby, you can use the Colleges page to find one that fits your needs. There are plenty of resources available to help you finance your studies, which you can learn about in the Education Resources section. And remember, there are plenty of career resources out there too, if you are ready to jump into the job market but don't know how. You can learn about what resources are out there in the Career Resources section and learn about how to get a job that works for you on the Getting a Job page.
Q: I just want to get in touch with an adult partner I know from YLAT. Can you help me find them?
A: Contact information for YLAT and OCFS staff is easily accessed in the Directory. They are here to support you!
Q: I read something in the app that I really think my friend and my foster parent should know. How can I share it with them?
A: In the upper right corner of any page in the app (in the blue bar at the top), there is a "share" icon that will be specific to your device. If you click on it, you can send any page by text or e-mail to anyone you would like.
